In which activities can you parttake?
- The project to improve the quality of the first two years of primary education: Here you will work in state schools. In Peru state schools have two turns. One turn from 8.00 a.m. till 1.00 p.m. and the other from 1.00 p.m. til 6 p.m. Each class room has between 25 and 40 children. We're training each teacher and helping her pupils daily for 2 hours in every turn. You're an assistant to the teacher. You'll practice with little groups or you'll coach individual children;
- The back-to-school-project: In this project you'll work in a more informal educational setting. Our schools are 1 room schools located in community centers or sometimes in peoples houses. You'll work with groups of 15 up to 20 children. Your role here also is teacher assistant. The teacher always has the full responsibility for the group. You work one on one with children or with little groups;
- You will be working intensively with children... The more fluent you are in Spanish, the more possibilities you have!

Bart Roijers, 21 jaar (Oktober 2011 – Januari 2012) aan het woord:
Bart was hier via de organistaie Dare to Go.
De tijd is voorbij gevlogen. De drieënhalve maand die ik hier in Iquitos heb gewoond zijn ongelofelijk snel voorbij gegaan. Na eerst tweeënhalve week in Cusco een taalcursus te hebben gevolgd om mijn Spaans te verbeteren ben ik naar Iquitos gekomen. Vanuit het vliegtuig was al te zien dat Iquitos een wereld op zich is, gelegen midden in de jungle aan de Amazone. Het heeft me wel verbaasd hoe het er hier op sommige momenten aan toe gaat, op geen enkele manier vergelijkbaar met Nederland. Maar dat is ook de reden dat ik hier heen ben gekomen, even in een hele andere wereld leven. En dat is zeker gelukt.
Tijdens het laatste jaar van mijn inmiddels afgeronde studie, SPECO, ben ik mezelf gaan afvragen of de commerciële sector echt iets is waar ik in verder wil gaan. Vanwege het feit dat ik altijd nog een keer voor langere tijd naar het buitenland wilde, me meer wilde gaan interesseren in de sociale sector en mezelf nog veel te jong vond om te gaan werken ben ik, na het behalen van mijn diploma, naar Iquitos vertrokken om daar aan de slag te gaan als vrijwilliger op El Manguaré.
